The Three Doors Foundation was created in response to the problems and suffering of the modern world. In the face of increasing violence, social inequalities and discrimination related to ethnicity, gender, sexual and religious identity or species discrimination, as well as ecological crisis, our aspiration is to work for peaceful change by transforming human consciousness. We invite concrete action to transform suffering and healing, thereby co-creating a happier, healthier and more compassionate society.
Three areas of our work intersect and co-exist because we firmly believe that answers to complex problems must and should be sought systemically. These are, firstly, Mindfulness practice and Compassion in Action inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. Secondly, Empathic Communication according to Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication. And thirdly, Deep Ecology as taught and practised by Joanna Macy.
These three areas of action – Mindfulness and Compassion, Nonviolent Communication and Deep Ecology constitute the Three Doors through which we can transcend the illusion of separation and reconnect with the web of life of which we are a part.
